What the Image Resizer and Converter Does
The Image Resizer & Format Converter provides precise geometric scaling and format transcoding for digital photos and illustrations. Web page performance, social media platform upload specifications (such as Instagram square posts or YouTube thumbnails), and email attachment constraints demand exact pixel dimensions rather than bloated raw camera resolutions.
Our tool executes all image rendering using client-side HTML5 canvas pipelines. You can target exact pixel dimensions with an automatic aspect ratio lock to prevent stretching, scale by proportional percentage, and convert image encoding simultaneously between JPEG, PNG, and next-generation WebP formats.
How to Resize and Convert Images
- Import Image: Drag your image file onto the dropzone or click to select from your device storage.
- Select Resizing Method: Pick "Resize by Pixels" to type exact target widths or heights, or choose "Resize by Percentage" to scale uniformly.
- Ensure Aspect Ratio Lock: Keep "Maintain aspect ratio" enabled to automatically synchronize the opposite dimension and prevent image distortion.
- Choose Output Format: Choose WebP for modern web apps, PNG for sharp graphic designs with transparency, or JPEG for universal photograph compatibility.
- Export: Click "Download Resized Image" to save the scaled file locally.
Worked Example
Original Image: 4000 × 2250 px high-res camera shot in PNG format (5.1 MB).
Target: Standard YouTube thumbnail specification: 1280 × 720 px in WebP format.
Action: Set Width = 1280 px (Height auto-adjusts to 720 px via aspect ratio lock). Select WebP format at 85% quality.
Result: Crisp 1280 × 720 px image weighing under 120 KB!
